Project Methodology

MacBeth Williams follows a disciplined project methodology as outlined below. Our methods and supporting tools can be constructed into custom processes conducive to our clients specific internal project management requirements.

Opportunity Assessment

MacBeth Williams starts virtually all projects with the background research that foretells to the client the likelihood of project success.  Typically a defined analysis with established project boundaries, the assessment examines current state performance (expense, pricing, architecture, processes) and begins to conservatively hypothesize attainable opportunities from recommended performance changes. The deliverable is a formal documented statement of the potential minimum and maximum opportunity.

Project Formalization

The parameters for project success is established in a formal project charter and specific expectations for participation are set, the project begins. Customary in all project efforts is the consultants initial effort in documenting and evaluating current state data. The MacBeth Williams team provides a guide for the data that will be requested such that the project can start quickly and remain true to the project date milestones. Structure, communication and commitment to process are the themes established early on in a MacBeth Williams project.

Current State Analysis

In the early stages MacBeth Williams projects create an understanding surrounding current state performance. Whether documenting the technical merits of architecture, validating a series of contract rates or even representing a contact center work-flow process; all projects have to build a foundation from which to contrast future opportunities. Our Current State Analysis provides a deliverable in order to gain confirmation from our clients that an accurate understanding of current conditions has been secured.

Comparative Analysis

The next step in the project process is a comparative analysis.  Current state baselines are compared with 'best practice' data or performance information. In all cases, the difference between current state performance and the results from the comparative analysis is the basis for quantifying opportunity and developing our recommendations.

Recommendations

Emanating from the comparative analysis, recommendations are the next and final step before a course of action is set. MacBeth Williams prepares a set of recommendations forecasting opportunities from our completed analysis. Whether there is an indication of an opportunity resulting from errant billing or opportunities from a process improvement in a contact center or any other opportunities, MacBeth Williams recommendations prepare clients’ expectations for project success. Delivered in the form of a report, presentation or both, recommendations signal the close to the initial stages of our work and the start of the process to secure the opportunities represented in our analysis.

Execution Phase

Opportunities defined, the next step can proceed in many different directions based on the recommendation to be followed.  Critical to any execution is the careful planning of the initiative and the absolute focus on attaining the objectives set forth in the preceding recommendations.  Some projects may incorporate the procurement of telecom products and services.   Other projects may involve the redesign of a process and the training and coaching necessary for the new process to take effect.  In either or all cases, MacBeth Williams puts together a highly structured project plan to meet the goals and objectives set forth in the recommendations and lead our client on the best path for success.

Project Validation

As projects come to a close all require validation that project objectives have been met. MacBeth Williams welcomes those opportunities to validate our projected outcomes. Whether they be lower contract rates, recovered funds, improved processes creating greater efficiencies or some other deliverable, MacBeth Williams will validate that early forecasted projections have been met or exceeded. The team at MacBeth Williams is passionate about our work including our commitment to meet and exceed expectations. We'd have no other way than to be accountable for our work.
